Formal Recruitment
Check out our Guide to Formal Recruitment
Formal Recruitment occurs during the Spring semester and is a structured form of recruitment. Interested women will need to register for formal recruitment prior to the kick-off date. All interested women will be placed in groups and given Rho Gammas (recruitment guides), who will guide the women during the recruitment process.
Formal recruitment occurs in four different rounds and lasts for about one week. After each round, women in recruitment will be able to narrow the number of sororities they are interested in returning to in future rounds. The first round is Tours, where women will visit each of the 14 sororities. The second round is the philanthropy round. Women will visit up to ten chapters and receive a tour of their house as well as participate in a philanthropy activity. The third round is the skit round. Women will visit up to six chapters and watch a skit prepared by each chapter to get a look at a creative and fun side to each chapter. The final round is preference. Women will visit up to three chapters and participate in a preference ceremony with the chapter.
After the final round, women will rank the chapters they visited and will be matched with a chapter and extended a bid. Women will only be extended a bid from one chapter and all bids will be given out at the same time. After the recruitment process, there will be a final bid day celebration where women will visit their new chapter house and meet their new member class.
