VP Judicial Affairs - Laura Hereford

Major:  Mechanical Engineering

Year: Junior

Hometown:  Sparks, MD/St Charles, IL

Reason for joining the PHA Executive Board:  I wanted to get involved in the Panhellenic community and being on the PHA Exec board is a great opportunity to meet other Panhellenic women and give back. In my first term on the board, I enjoyed working with the individual chapters and helping both the chapters and the community as a whole reach their full potential.

Term Goals:  Serve as a resource for chapters standards chairs and new member educators, recruit and train a qualified Judicial Board, improve accountability within the community, and continuously revise the Judicial policies.

Position Description: The Vice President of Judicial Affairs serves as parliamentarian of all formal Judicial Hearings, including but not limited to submitting a notice of hearing, notice of sanctions, and facts memoranda. She also works with the IFC Chief Justice to select and train both the PHA and IFC Judicial Board so that they are prepared to serve as an unbiased third party in hearings. Finally, she is responsible for conducting New Member Educator training, as well as, meeting individually with each Chapter's standards chairs to monitor their internal programming.
