The Panhellenic Association is the governing council over the 14 National Panhellenic Conference sororities that are represented here at Maryland. Every sorority woman at Maryland is not only a member of her individual chapter but she is a member of the PHA as well.
The sorority women of the Panhellenic Association work closely together with the men of the Interfraternity Council as well as the men and women of the Pan-Hellenic Council and United Greek Council to make the Maryland the pre-eminent Greek community in the country.
In order to attain such a high status, the Panhellenic Association strives for excellence in areas such as scholarship, leadership, service, sisterhood and self-development. With these ideals in mind, the women of the PHA are active in all areas of campus. From sports to the creative arts to student government and community service, you are likely to find a sorority woman in any aspect of campus!
We appreciate you taking the time to learn about the Panhellenic Association. Please look around and get a glimpse of the incredible experience that is being a sorority woman and a Greek at the University of Maryland!
We, as undergraduate members of women's fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding of good health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide fraternity activities.
We, as Fraternity Women, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live.
